POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS

Post-doctoral researcher/Graduate student positions available in the Protein Chemistry Research Group, Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki and Unit of Excellence in Immunotoxicology, Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, Helsinki to characterize activation of innate immunity using modern proteomics tools. The deadline for applications is September 10th, 2010.

A Senior researcher/ Postdoctoral Fellow at The Finnish Microarray and Sequencing Centre (FMSC) at the Turku Centre for Biotechnology for the period of September 1, 2010 – December 31, 2012. Closing date for the applications is September 13, 2010 at 3.45 pm.

The Finnish National Protein Crystallisation Facility is located in the Institute of Biotechnology at the University of Helsinki. The unit hosts three liquid dispensing robots (Hamilton STAR, Cartesian Microsys, TTP labtech Mosquito), two plate-reader microscopes and various Oracle databases. The unit has an ongoing Biocenter Finland -funded project where the current position will be filled. Institute of Biotechnology, Automated Protein Crystallisation Unit, invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher with effect from 1.10.2010 to 31.12.2012 (project). The applications should be sent no later than on Wednesday 15.9.2010, at 3.45 pm.

Postdoctoral Projects and PhD - A novel, fundamental mechanism of how small GTPases operate on the membrane. We are looking for highly motivated and ambitious candidates for PhD students, as well as Postdocs, who are interested to join our young and interactive research group at the Centre for Biotechnology (CBT) in Turku/Abo. A PhD-student/post doctoral position is available at the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki, in the Nuclear Actin lab, headed by Dr. Maria Vartiainen. Our laboratory is studying the role of actin and actin-binding proteins in the nucleus, especially in the context of regulating gene expression. Applications should be sent before 30.9.2010.

Post doctoral researcher and graduate student positions open in the Campylobacter / Helicobacter research group at The Department of Food Hygiene and Environmental Health (Center of Excellence in Microbial Food Safety), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine,  University of Helsinki  for research on the pathogenesis of Campylobacter/Helicobacter infections. The deadline of the application is October 1st 2010.
